We Believe

At Christ the Shepherd, we believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. Through His life, death, and resurrection, God offers forgiveness, life, and salvation to all people. We believe that Jesus still calls people to Himself through His Word and Sacraments, and we desire to help people know Him, trust Him, and follow Him.

We are a congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and are committed to the historic Christian faith as taught in the Scriptures and confessed in the Lutheran tradition.

We are not a community of perfect people, but of sinners redeemed by Jesus and continually being shaped by His mercy.

We Believe In:
  • Grace Alone — that we are saved entirely by God’s grace through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  • Faith Alone — that we receive this salvation through faith, which is itself a gift of God.
  • Scripture Alone — that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God and the final authority for what we believe, teach, and confess.

At Christ the Shepherd, our mission is:

To make disciples of Jesus Christ who Reach Up to God in worship, Reach In to one another in community, and Reach Out to the world that God so loves.

If you would like to know more about what we believe, what it means to be Lutheran, or how we put these beliefs into practice at Christ the Shepherd, we encourage you to reach out to our pastor.

We Worship

In worship, God declares His love for us through Jesus.

In worship, we respond to God’s love by celebrating.

8:30 AM Traditional: uses an ancient format (liturgy) with our Lutheran emphasis on the Gospel expressed in hymns, confession and creed, preaching and prayer, and the Lord’s Supper.  Our music is enriched with the sound of organ and grand piano, as well as classic instruments and vocal ensembles.

10:45 AM Contemporary: The content is the same, with a different musical style, led by a praise band and vocal team, drawing from many modern sources with a sprinkling of some great hymns of the church.
