“MY SOUL IS VERY SORROWFUL, EVEN TO DEATH; REMAIN HERE, AND WATCH WITH ME” -Matthew 26:38
What: A 19-hour Lenten Prayer Vigil focusing on the time between the Last Supper and the Crucifixion.
Who: All CTS attenders. A process has been established so that those who are chronically-ill or confined at home can participate in the Easter Week Prayer Vigil.
Purpose: Through the spiritual discipline of the Vigil, participants desire an encounter with the living God, an increased sensitivity to his presence in our lives, church and world, and a better understanding of who we are in light of the historic events of Jesus life, death and resurrection.
Goal: We seek to have many CTS members praying every hour of the Vigil. Alternative options to being part of the Vigil’s community of prayer are available if coming to CTS holds you back from participation.
Resources: Two Lenten Prayer Vigil documents are being developed: A document for your Vigil preparation during Holy Week (available 1-2 days prior to Holy Week) and a Prayer Guide for use at the Vigil if you so choose (available 2 days prior to the Vigil).
